Ray Mears Outdoor Survival Handbook
This is a brilliant book. It contains a vast wealth of information locked in seasonal sections. Simply open the book to correct season and using plentiful clear illustrations, it will teach you techniques specific to the time in the year and show you what to do and what you can use around you in the wild. Unlike other books which leave you searching for the rare bark of some tree with out telling you you are four months too late, this book is very interesting and informative. It comes highly recommended.

Ray Winninger's Underground : it's 2021 and the dream is dead
Published in Unknown Binding by Mayfair Games ()
Author: Ray Winninger
Average review score:

Should've gone to Vegas
This underground campaign is very well organised. Winninger's game history is so accurate that it is startling (he predicted that the internet would take over, watched the news lately, the U.S.P.S. is trying to tax our email to compensate for the money its losing because of e-mail). He also predicts that foreign affairs will become so numerous and complicated as to lead the American people into a state of apathy concerning its government. Well? A wonderful work by a very insightful (or EXTREMELY lucky)man, I'd like to take this guy to Vegas!

a freshly satirical role-playing game
My friend first brought this to my attention durring an AD&D session. It is not only hillarious in the satire of the near-future it portrays, but also a very well thought out and fun game. The rules are comparatively easy to master, and this is the only book nesecary for play. It is hard to track down, but I believe it is entirely worth the effort. Game enthusiasts that are at least slightly jaded and cynical will enjoy it.

Ray-Centered Astrology
Published in Hardcover by Libra Publishers (June, 1987)
Authors: Ruth Mierswa and Richard Mierswa
Average review score:

Book Description
RAY-CENTERED ASTROLOGY: Your Unique Soul's Purpose--How to Find It

Why are you here? What is your Soul's purpose? People in ever-increasing numbers are searching for answers.

Some try religion and some, psychology. Although each offers certain kinds of help, neither can supply the answers. Traditional Astrology often provides more help, yet still does not answer these questions.

The answers now can be found in "Ray-Centered Astrology"--a definitive work on an original development of a new phase of astrology in tune with the accelerating Aquarian Age energies.

Each New Age brings with it new energies necessary for the evolvement of humanity. In astrology, the New Age energies concern the Seven Rays.

Present Traditional Astrology is personality-centered in rapport with Piscean Age energies. We are now ready for Ray-Centered Astrology which is Soul-centered in rapport with Aquarian Age energies.

The amount of help received from "Ray-Centered Astrology" depends on one's urge for Soul evolvement and scope of astrological knowledge. Even those who know only their sun signs can receive extraordinary help that cannot be found elsewhere. Practitioners of various disciplines will find that Ray-Centered Astrology, if thoroughly studied, may become the handmaiden to their profession.

No two persons have lived identical past lives. No one else can serve others as well as each of us can in our own unique capacity. This capacity is written in one's Ray-Centered horoscopes.

The author has created two original horoscopes--one depicting the most serious problem and how to solve it, and the other, the Soul's purpose and techniques for actualizing it.

To avoid difficult experiences, Ray-Centered Astrology teaches how to use challenging aspectual energies beneficially.

Precise calculations are provided for determining one's Soul and Personality Rays, followed by a detailed treatise on each Ray. Three complete delineations follow clear-cut steps for a delineation. Numerous explanations, examples, charts, and horoscopes for in-depth understanding are offered.

Ray-Centered Astrology has its origin in the Ancient Wisdom--in each successive Age, what is needed is released by certain Masters, one of whom stated: "In relation to the Seven Rays, the new esoteric astrology will gradually supersede present astrology. By the end of this century, it will have won its rightful place in human thought."

An Excellent fusion of mainstream and esoteric astrology
Ray-Centered Astrology is the most pragmatic book available on esoteric astrology. Whether used as a reference or as an introduction to the Ancient Wisdom Teachings, any one practicing astrology or esoteric psychology will find this book a welcome addition to their library.

Learning Esoteric Astrology straight from the Master D.K. in Bailey's "Esoteric Astrology" or even from Oken's "Soul-Centered Astrology" can be difficult. Ruth Mierswa clearly has thoroughly studied Alice Bailey and has a gift for translating the material for all to comphrehend.

Rays of Hope
Published in Hardcover by Breakthru Pub (April, 2000)
Author: Arianne Wing-Miller
Average review score:

Encouraging and Inspiring!
I thought the book was wonderful. The author shares her successes and her challanges of helping her husband live a longer and a fuller life. It is practical and easy reading. I encourage you to read the book whether you have cancer, love someone that does, or simply want cancer prevention. The author teaches the importance of healing in BODY, MIND and SPIRIT.

Informative and Instructive
It's unique to find a book that so effectively combines state-of-the-art medical and pharmaceutical technologies AND complimentary and supportive health care techniques - such as diet, nutrition and exercise - and at same time provide the personal truimphs and tribulations of the author's and her husband's battle with his pancreatic cancer and all that goes with it. Ms. Miller's book brings the reader into the terrifying world of cancer and provides insight to dealing with the issue physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. The two overwhelming lessons this book teaches is simply to FIGHT and to play an ACTIVE ROLE in the treatment process, whether personally afflicted with cancer or helping an afflicted loved one. We're fortunate that Ms. Miller's quest for knowledge and her dedication to and tenacity for researching treatment methods and techniques resulted in her book, Rays of Hope. Highly recommended for all whose lives are affected, either directly or indirectly, by cancer.

Rays of the Dawn : Natural Laws of the Body, Mind and Soul
Published in Paperback by Concept-Therapy Institute (01 January, 2000)
Authors: Thurman Fleet and Dr. Thurman Fleet
Average review score:

a must for chiropractic history students, ver y influential
Fleet is a great master of healing work, one of the greatest if not the greatest single greatest chiropractic "home run hero". He had a reputation in practice and in classrooms that he was the best of the best. If he could not help you, no one could. This book was originally mass published in 1948. Contextual to B.J. Palmer's green books. Much love -

Dynamic Natural Law Secrets
Rays of the Dawn...an excellent natural guide that creates a better understanding of the whole person interaction including many of those difficult to describe and "taxing" emotions. These emotions known as Laws of the Mind like Fear, Worry, Anger, Jealousy, Prejudice, Criticism, Selfishness, Hatred etc are considered destructive forces that affect and limit health and happiness. To change those hurtful feelings, rich and refined emotions of Faith, Hope, Patience, Duty, Forgiveness, Generosity and Love are beautifully presented as an alternative.

This is an excellent source book for parents, teachers, and professionals everywhere who are responsible for the guidance and direction of others. Human Resources are our most precious commodity. The more we know about the birth of our attitudes and feelings the more we know about ourselves. The more we know and learn how to change to an elevated emotion at the appropriate time the greater our capacity for compassion and understanding of our neighbors.

The ideal legacy for future generations would certainly encompass the teaching of healthy and wholesome ideas, attitudes, and actions for everyday living. These special ideas would so permeate the body, mind and psyche that individuals would naturally feel and exhibit high self-esteem based on universal awareness. The Rays of the Dawn offers anyone earnestly seeking something better an opportunity to begin the process.

Rays of Truth - Crystals of Light: Information and Guidance for the Golden Age

Authors: Fred Bell and Jonathan Spinney
Average review score:

Eye opener!
This book has a way of making the reader consider all the possibilities that exist of seen and unseen influences, both positive and negative.

The "truth is out there" is really brought home in various chapters in this book. If what Dr Fred Bell writes is true, and I personally feel that what he reports has credence, then humanity can benefit. I am fascinated by all the explanantions from ET cover-ups to proper nutrition. Nutrition not only of what we ingest, but of "spiritual" nutrition from a cosmic point of view, free of religious dogma.

This book is a must read, I really enjoyed it.

Truly Amazing From ALL Points Of View
This book is no nonsense, and when I was done, I really had a much clearer understanding of not only what was going on in the world, but in the universe, and myself. It elegantly blends hard core Physics , Mathamatics, in a creative and truly freesh look, at the inner workings of life, and offers down to earth solutions to today's crazy problems. I thought the book was Amazing, and it should be read by everyone.. I can say truly that this is one of those best books to keep.. :)

Reinhard Heydrich: Assassination
Published in Paperback by U.S.M. (01 October, 1994)
Author: Ray R. Cowdery
Average review score:

A Well Documented Tale
SS-Obergruppenfuehrer (at the time of his death) Reinhard Heydrich is one of those mysteries of the Third Reich whom we are only beginning to see in some perspective. A man of dubious background (possibly a Mischling or half-Jew by the Nuremberg definitions--see Dr. Bryan Mark Rigg's "Hitler's Jewish Soldiers"), he nonetheless was seen as essential to the cause by Adolf Hitler, and participated fully in the Endloesung (Final Solution) of the Judenfrage (Jewish question). He presided over the first Wannsee conference (January 20, 1942) at which the definitions of partial Jews were discussed, as well as the "clearing" of Jews from ALL aspects of German life, including the living space of the Reich. Heydrich was evidently energetic and enthusiastic about his work. So much so, that he was eventually assassinated (shot and died from infection of his wounds) by Czech partisans airlifted into Czechosovakia (the Reichsprotektorate of Bohemia and Moravia), who were trained in Britain where there was an expatriate Czech army of resistance.

This is a dreadful work, and should be. It is amply accompanied by photos and descriptions of man's inhumanity (or is it actually humanity) to his or her fellow conspecifics. This is another is a series of works that are beginning to tell the "untold" stories of the Third Reich, and make us think more deeply about its origins--far beyond the delusions and confusion of one man, Adolf Hitler. In fact, personalities like Heydrich, loyal but somewhat creative and inventive when it came to carrying out the orders or concepts of their superiors, seem to have viewed themselves as visionaries, influenced by their own propaganda. Books such as this will bring them posthumously down to earth, but we'll understand more about the new ways of waging war that demanded entirely new concepts of crime and justice at the war's termination, to be applied to those who survived and could be found. Without doubt, Heydrich would have emerged as a complex and confounding figure, and the story of his silencing rests upon an equally convoluted and twisting series of events. This will make you wonder what may have been uncovered by the recent 100-year floodings of Prague as well!

A Book of Passion and Politics
To this educated reader, the work on Heydrich will be of great interest to anyone who wants to go beyond the level of undergraduate or cable channel history on personalities of the Third Reich, and those who would give their lives to stop the spread of its ideas. It is really a testimonial to Czech patriotism, but those who know (and you should) about the Wannsee conference in January 1942 (see the DVD Conspiracy or the German video The Wannsee Conference) will be interested also in Heydrich, who was rumored to be a Mischling (half-Jew). The photos are rough, the tale is compelling.

He was the best
I had the great pleasure of actually working with BC Downey for a number of years on a many different projects. He was a wealth of knowledge the likes the fire service never knew. "The Rescue Company" is a wonderful legacy by a great man. I would HIGHLY recommend it to any firefighter who wants to learn more than putting "the wet stuff on the red stuff". If you are serious about a career in the fire service, this book needs to be not only be sitting on your shelf, but it better be well read. We will miss you Chief, you were the best.

educational reading
good book for people who are lookingfor a book to allow them to understand what their firefighters do at work

The Riddle of Cthulhu
Published in Paperback by Llumina Press (February, 2003)
Author: Ray Emerson
Average review score:

Love and Lovecraftian Horror!
Ray Emerson not only writes a terrifying horror story in the Lovecraft tradition, but he also has a flair for love scenes, which are the hardest in literature to write properly! His love scenes are believable, they engage the reader, they are tender, sensual and romantic, without being clichéd. This book is beautifully written!

Lovecraftian adventure!
Cthulhu strikes again! Wow, he sure is bad, bad. But "good" will win again; maybe?
If you worry about WMD's better check Cthulhu out!
Nice touch of romance and Greek Odyssey mythos too.
